Pleasing Paddy Field Landscape and Rice
Summary
Melting water from Mt. Chokai which is the second highest and called dewafuji. Its spring water emerges from the rock wall, which is Mototaki Falls. With those rich water resources and blessings of nature, wide paddy fields create beautiful scenery. The terraced paddy fields or ones around the natural treasure Kujukushima have various appearances that change with time and season, which entertains us visually. There are some organic farmers so that you will get food safety.
FEATURE
What interests us is a landscape with paddy fields in Kisakata called Kujukushima. It is a result of a sector collapse and uplift after the earthquake and now especially in spring, you can imagine what it looked like when the fields are flooded before planting rice. In Kamigo area, you can see Kamigo Springwater Canal which enables us to grow food (especially rice) with the melting water and spring water from Mt. Chokai. The wide shallow canal warms the water and prevents cold water damage.
